For this project we were put into groups of 3-4 people. What we did for this project was that we had to create a verbatim play. What is a verbatim play? It is a play that people create from sources of information. We had to interview a person for our play. Once we did the interview we had to make a interview map then we transcribed it. Once we transcribed it, we then had to make a script. Our final script is here.
For our play we had to create a interview map. What is a interview map? It is a graphic organizer for our interview. For example, lets say our interviewee told us a very interesting story around the 10 minute mark. When we get this information, we put it in our interview map to tell us that around the 10th minute there was a interesting story. It also helps us with our transcribing.
As the project developed, we had to individually had to create a script for our group to see. In order for me to create my script I had to review the entire interview and choose which story's I wanted to include in our play. As I finished my script, my group members had finished their's too. Once we finished our scripts we then collaborated which parts of our scripts we wanted to put into our final script. Once we decided which parts we wanted in our script, we then revised the script and did our best to make it the best.
I think that a moment that summed up our project was when we finalized our script. For the project I contributed to the interview, transcribing, and making the script. For the interview I helped by creating some pre-interview questions and then asking some questions during the interview. I had transcribed the interview with my group and I had to transcribe 15 minutes of the interview. I did transcribe most of it but I did need some help from my group member. The last thing I did to help my group was by helping them create the script while also giving them ideas about the script. I also revised our script. My proud moment of this project was when we had finished our script because it had taken us days of revision to get it ready for the play. A lesson that I learned for this project was to not let the work pile up because for this project it took a day of making up in order to keep up with my group. It was a lesson well learned.
